The Health Benefits of Juicing

Juicing has become increasingly popular over the years because it can remove toxins from your body, reduce your risk of cancer, boost your immune system and can help your body digest foods properly, not to mention it tastes fantastic. Juicing is convenient and easy way to consume vegetables or fruit that you might not typically be drawn towards eating by itself, because you can easily mask the unsettling flavours of spinach, ginger, and beet root into a well-balanced, properly mixed beverage.

When you begin drinking freshly pressed juice, your body kicks into overdrive because all of those vitamins, minerals and other nutrient-rich properties will increase liver and kidney function, therefore supporting your body to build healthier and newer tissues. To get the health benefits of juicing, you don't have to engage in juice fasts or cleanses. You can easily incorporate a freshly squeezed juice into your morning routine and consume it with your daily breakfast or lunch. To get the full benefits, you should start slow and gradually incorporate it into your diet. If you're considering diving straight into it, we recommend consulting with a trusted doctor or nutritionist before beginning a juice cleanse.

Juicing is Trendy

Would you consider swapping your morning coffee for a freshly pressed juice? That is the question we start asking ourselves after reading the countless benefits a freshly squeezed juice will impose on your daily diet. It could be something to consider, especially when research shows that Vitamins A and C and phytochemicals are all ingested after one glass of fresh juice – not to mention the enzymes found in raw fruits and vegetables, which are responsible for the metabolic process in your body. A reminder that juicing is not the only way to consume these great vitamins, minerals, and supplements. Incorporating the whole food into your diet has just as many benefits. As long as you try to integrate more fruits and vegetables, solid or liquid, into your diet, you can keep enjoying your morning coffee without the guilt that you're not getting the required number of fruits or veggies.

Let's rewind to the 1930s, when the first juicing machine was invented. Juicers and blenders became a household staple for millions of people who quickly became fans of the device. Around the 1990s, Jamba Juice opened up its first location in San Luis Obispo, California. This store opened and instantly became a popular staple to many. In the early 2000s, several other juice bars and smoothie shops opened their doors to help with the growing demand. Now that you can understand where these ever-increasing numbers and reputation are coming from, you'll realize that juicing isn't just a trend that will soon die down. But instead, that it is a lifestyle. With many years of popularity, you can see that juicing works because it poses countless health benefits. Juicing is not a "fad," and within the years to come, as technology advances, we expect that juicing will have an increased reputation and demand.

How To: Juicing 101

The juicing process involves the extraction of natural vitamins, minerals, and liquids from fruits and vegetables. When raw fruits and vegetables are juiced, all solid compounds become fluid, leaving you an extract loaded with antioxidants, anti-inflammatory compounds, nutrients, and plenty of vitamins. The five main health benefits you can find from juicing include: increased energy, decreased inflammation, increased vitamins in your diet, potential weight loss, and protection against disease.

When using a juicer, there is little preparation needed. You'll need to start by washing your fruits and vegetables and peeling off the tough skin. For example, oranges, lemons and mangos should be skinless. Then you can start juicing right away. We recommend that if you are using a blender, cut your fruits and vegetables into small chunks. When blending, you may get some pieces that did not thoroughly mix. To reach the desired liquid consistency, you may want to run the liquid through a skimmer before enjoying it.

Once you finish up using the juicer, you can unplug it and begin disassembling it. Next, you can dump the pulp-catching bin or container into the garbage and scrape it out with a spatula. Under running water, you can rinse each part and use a small brush to clean the smaller pieces. We recommend a nail brush or an old toothbrush to clean the hard-to-reach areas.

A Few Tips for the Journey

Juicing is a simple method to include superfoods into your diet. You can easily add chia seeds, flax seeds, goji berries, wheatgrass, and turmeric to your juice without altering the taste. Suppose you're worried about the natural sugar content being too high. In that case, one tip we can suggest for any future juice recipes that you come across is to double-check what ingredients it contains because a balanced juice should typically have about 80 percent vegetables and 20 percent fruits.

We also urge those making fresh juice to consume it right away, helping you absorb all beneficial nutrients. As the juice sits out, it oxidizes, and some nutrients can be lost. Leaving fresh juice out can also alter the taste and make the drink sour.

How To: Integrating CBD Oil and Juicing

If you're looking to incorporate CBD into your juice recipe, double-check that it has lemon or lime in it. When using lemon or lime in your juice, it is essential to remember that you should mix it with CBD oil separately. Removing the citrus from your juice recipe is crucial because citric acid functions as a natural emulsifier in the juice. The lemon or lime juice in this recipe must be in the same glass as your preferred CBD oil dosage. Once your fruit is juiced, you can pour the mixture into the same glass with the CBD and lemon juice mixture. After all of that, here are two of our favourite CBD-infused fresh juice recipes.
